Introduction:
Android comes with bunch of tricks that most of people don’t know. These tricks, or features as better word, can significantly help you doing things as faster as possible.
Here are some Android tricks that can enhance your experience and help you get the most out of your device:
1. Quick App Switching
Quickly switch between your two most recently used apps by double-tapping the recent apps button or swiping horizontally on the navigation bar if you have gesture navigation.
2. Split-Screen Mode
You can use two apps simultaneously by entering split-screen mode. Open recent apps, tap the app icon at the top, and choose “Split Screen.” Then, select the second app.
3. Smart Lock
Set up Smart Lock to keep your device unlocked in trusted environments (like when it’s on your body or at home) by going to Settings > Security > Smart Lock.
4. One-Handed Mode
On large-screen phones, use one-handed mode by swiping down on the navigation bar or in Settings > Advanced Features > One-Handed Mode (may vary by brand).
5. Enable Developer Options
Unlock Developer Options by tapping Build Number in Settings > About Phone seven times. This gives you access to advanced settings, like adjusting animation speed or USB debugging.
6. Increase Animation Speed
Make your phone feel faster by reducing animation speeds in Developer Options. Set Window animation scale, Transition animation scale, and Animator duration scale to 0.5x or turn them off.
7. Screen Pinning
Lock an app on the screen so others can’t navigate away from it by enabling Screen Pinning in Settings > Security. Press the overview button, tap the app icon, and select “Pin.”
8. Custom Quick Settings
Customize quick settings tiles (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc.) by swiping down and tapping the pencil icon. Add or rearrange icons as per your needs.
9. Use Google Assistant for Text Reading
Google Assistant can read text aloud or perform actions in apps by saying, “Read this” or “Hey Google, read this page.”
10. Hide Sensitive Notifications
Keep notifications private by going to Settings > Apps & notifications > Notifications and choosing “Sensitive notifications” to only show notifications when your phone is unlocked.
11. Optimize Battery Life
Use Battery Saver mode, find and restrict battery-draining apps under Settings > Battery > Battery Usage, or switch to dark mode to save battery on OLED screens.
12. Gesture Navigation
Android has gesture navigation for smoother, full-screen control. Enable it under Settings > System > Gestures > System navigation.
13. Instant Translation
With Google Lens or the Translate app, point your camera at text to instantly translate it. It’s perfect for signs, menus, or other written text.
14. Wi-Fi and QR Code Sharing
Easily share Wi-Fi with others by generating a QR code under Settings > Network & internet > Wi-Fi > Saved Networks and select “Share.”
15. Use Digital Wellbeing
Android’s Digital Wellbeing settings let you set app usage limits, schedule bedtime mode, and view your screen time stats for balanced usage.
