In a race to develop its air fleet to reach 200 aircraft by 2030, Royal Air Maroc has begun receiving a number of aircraft in batches as part of a well-thought-out government plan.

Thus, in the United States of America, it was noted that the Moroccan national airline RAM received two new Boeing 787-9 aircraft, the most modern in the world, to be added to the Kingdom’s fleet of this model, which already consists of five aircraft designated for long-haul flights.

According to many  newspaper sources, the first plane will provide a direct line between Casablanca and Beijing, China, while the second will provide a direct line between Casablanca and Los Angeles, USA, in the first direct line linking a city in Africa to the state of California.

The two aircraft were prepared in the United States and painted in red and green, to be delivered to the Kingdom in the coming days, bearing the numbers CN-RHA and CN-RHB.

Royal Air Maroc has announced a call for tenders to purchase new long- and short-haul aircraft with the aim of expanding its air fleet fourfold over the next ten years.

In this context, the CEO of Royal Air Maroc, Mr. Abdelhamid Addou, said that the national airline has launched a tender to purchase new aircraft that will reach 200 aircraft to enhance the Royal Air Maroc fleet amid its efforts to meet the growing demand for travel.

The tender, launched on April 15, sees Morocco’s largest carrier Africa’s largest carrier quadruple its fleet size within a decade as the country prepares to co-host the 2030 World Cup with Spain and Portugal.

Royal Air Maroc flies to around 50 airports in Africa with a fleet of 52 aircraft, most of them Boeing.

Adou said earlier that the company’s plan helps achieve Morocco’s goal of attracting 17.5 million tourists by 2026 and 26 million by 2030.
